Jonathan Lake

Jonathan has been the Chief Executive of The Cancer Counselling Trust since December 2005. He has come from a business and strategy background working for companies such as the BBC and Virgin and has, for the last four years, managed a commercial counselling organisation.

Jonathan has been a practising therapist since 2000 and specialises in trauma and workplace issues.

“I am delighted to work for such a worthwhile and successfully utilised charity. I feel privileged to be in a position to develop and support a much needed counselling service, available to all and staffed by skilled and experienced specialist cancer counsellors. Thanks to the dedication of our staff, friends and supporters, we can make sure that no one has to experience the anxiety of cancer alone.”

Dilys Stinson

Dilys is a Founder Member of The Cancer Counselling Trust, having worked as both a volunteer and paid staff member at Cancerbackup previously.

She is one of the CCT counsellors. In 2000 she began to job-share the role of Counselling Service Coordinator, and continues in that role.

Dilys trained in Integrative Psychosysthesis, and has had a private practice since 1997. She has a background in Sociology, and Textiles.

"I love working for CCT. We are a team that work very well together, and the work feels very meaningful. Caspari House is a really nice environment for both clients and staff to be in. Being part of the group that set up CCT has meant that I have been involved in lots of things that have been really interesting and challenging, outside of any previous experience. "

Jane

Jane is also a founder of CCT. She works as a counsellor and as development co-ordinator which means that over the last six years, she has had to learn how to fundraise fast and to combat any residual anxiety about phoning people she doesn't know and who might support CCT.

Like Dilys, she trained in Integrative Psychosynthesis and has a private practice. She also has a parallel publishing existence, working with authors to develop their ideas and manuscripts.

"I feel very proud of way that we have managed to make a wish become a reality. At CCT, we wanted to create a professional but friendly environment where people who contact us know that they are appreciated as individuals. We genuinely want feedback and strive all the time to improve our service and extend our capacity to offer support to people affected by cancer."

Sasha Jenkin

For my first degree I studied Art History and after leaving university I spent almost 15 years working in Administration first at the Tate Gallery and then in Publishing. 13 years ago I went into my own personal therapy which I found extremely helpful and one of the outcomes of this process was that I decided to retrain as a therapist. After training I built up a small private practice as well as working as a Case Manager for an Employment Assistant Program.

I started at the Cancer Counselling Trust in December 2006 as an Executive Assistant. I enjoy this work as I am utilizing my administrative skills within the counselling environment with which I am also familiar. I also feel very lucky to be working for such a fantastic organisation.
